Kaesler Alte Reben Shiraz 2018 is a commanding expression from old Barossa vines, many exceeding 100 years of age. The nose opens with an opulent cascade of dark plum, blackberry compote, and cracked black pepper, underpinned by fragrant violets and a seductive waft of dark chocolate. On the palate, the wine delivers extraordinary depth and concentration — a hallmark of old-vine Barossa Shiraz — with layers of ripe blackcurrant, smoked meat, and roasted espresso bean weaving seamlessly through a plush, velvety texture. Carefully integrated French and American oak lends notes of vanilla and cedar without overshadowing the fruit. The tannins are ripe and finely grained, providing structure while maintaining an almost silky suppleness.
