On the nose, it opens with an inviting bouquet of blackcurrant, dark plum, and mulberry, interwoven with cedar and mocha from its maturation in seasoned American and French oak — some of which previously held Grange. The palate is rich and structured, delivering waves of dark berry fruit, chocolate, and a subtle eucalyptus lift that is distinctly South Australian. Fine-grained, persistent tannins provide excellent backbone, while the oak integration adds complexity without overwhelming the fruit.
